This spring, Open Space Arts is taking a radically simple approach to fundraising.

Instead of renting a ballroom or hosting a formal gala, we’re inviting you to stay home — and invest directly in the work itself.

For years, Open Space Arts has built a reputation for producing intimate, daring, award-recognized theatre and film in Chicago. From Jeff Award–recognized productions to bold new voices and American premieres, we’ve proven that small spaces can create powerful impact.

But work like this doesn’t happen by accident.

It happens because artists are paid.
Because rehearsal rooms stay open.
Because audiences believe in stories that challenge, connect, and expand what queer theater and film can be.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 by April 30 to support our upcoming production and sustain our spring programming.

Every dollar goes directly toward:

• Artist compensation
• Production costs
• Film programming
• Keeping our space active and accessible

This is a lean campaign. There is no catering bill. No event overhead. No wasted expense.

Just community support for meaningful art.

As a thank-you, every donor will receive a complimentary streaming pass to a Queer Expression film of their choice — short, mid-length, or feature.
