JEFF RECOMMENDED MR. PARKER EXTENDED TO MARCH 2!

Open Space Arts is excited to premiere MR. PARKER, a witty and heartfelt drama about a budding relationship between a middle-aged widower and a much younger man. This captivating new LGBT play explores themes of love, connection, and the complexities of age and desire.

Performances run from March 2, with shows on Friday and Saturday at 7:30 PM and Sunday at 2:00 PM. Experience the magic of live theater in the intimate setting of Open Space Arts—a classic Chicago storefront theater where just 25 people gather to enjoy powerful, thought-provoking performances. Don’t miss this unique theatrical experience!

Critically acclaimed, Mr. Parker has been described by Rex Reed as “A very intelligent, absorbing look at contemporary relationships and the conflicts that keep us all from aging with joy and peace of mind. The writing is both honest and engaging. This play is a real discovery.”

We're thrilled to introduce the talented cast and creative team behind Mr. Parker, coming to Open Space Arts this January.

Andrew Kain Miller takes on the title role of Terry Parker. Known for his unforgettable performance in His Greatness (PrideArts, 2019), inspired by the life of Tennessee Williams, Andrew brings depth and nuance to the role of a man navigating profound loss and personal transformation.

Joining him is Riley Capp, a rising star in Chicago theater, who plays Justin, Terry's new love interest. An MFA graduate from the University of Houston’s Actors Training Program, Riley’s impressive credits include King Lear (Illinois Shakespeare Festival) and Much Ado About Nothing, where he portrayed Edmund and Claudio, respectively.

Chicago theater veteran Mary Ann Bowman takes on the role of Cassandra, Terry’s sharp-tongued sister-in-law. Mary Ann, last seen at Open Space Arts in Massage Therapy, has an extensive resume with notable performances at The Gift, City Lit, Sideshow, Buffalo Theatre Ensemble, Prop Thtr, Griffin Theatre, and Babes with Blades.

L-R: Andrew Kain Miller, Riley Capp, Mary Ann Bowman
