OSA is thrilled to share the incredible progress made by Open Space Arts (OSA) in the past year. In our very first year of eligibility, we earned top honors at the 2024 Joseph Jefferson Awards, including:
• Production of a Play – Short Run (COCK)
• Direction of a Play – Short Run (Michael D. Graham – LIGHT SWITCH)
• Performer in a Principal Role – Short Run (Philip Andrew Monnett – LIGHT SWITCH)
• Performer in a Supporting Role – Short Run (Sonya Robinson – COCK)

And that’s just the beginning.

In 2025, we’re continuing our mission to champion bold, new LGBTQIA+ voices in theater and film. Recent productions have included the heartfelt dramedy MR. PARKER, the edgy dark comedy IT’S BEEN TEN YEARS SINCE THEY ALL DIED, and this spring's international premiere of the acclaimed Australian play SCANDALOUS BOY.

This fall, we’re proud to present the American premiere of the off–West End hit GANGSTA BABY, featuring its original writer/star Cameron Raasdal-Munro and directed by the award-winning Rikki Beadle-Blair, MBE—all taking place in our intimate storefront space in Uptown.

Beyond the stage, OSA streams new international queer films weekly and is preparing for our first in-person screenings at Facets Cinematheque in Lincoln Park. At the same time, we’re reaching audiences around the globe by streaming queer shorts, mid-length, and feature-length films year-round on our website.
