Travel and Parking

Getting to Open Space Arts is a breeze!

We’re conveniently located eight blocks west of the 36 Broadway Bus and the Wilson stop on the Red Line.

If you’re traveling via the 22 Clark Bus, we’re just east of Clark Street at Wilson.

There are poles and racks to park bikes and scooters on the southeast corner of Wilson and Clark.

Parking Options:

  • Free street parking is often available on Wilson and surrounding side streets.
  • Paid parking is always available on Clark Street - and it is free on Sundays.
  • The lot at Dover and Wilson is no longer available as it is under construction and fenced off.

Food and Drink

Tiztal Cafe is a great place for lunch if you are here for a matinee. They close at 3.

Crema Shop is lovely for Coffee on Sundays.  They close at 5.

Max's Place is perfect for a drink before or after a show.

Uptown Taproom is also great, and the kitchen now closes at 10 on Friday and Saturday.

Explore The Historic Dover Street District

The Dover Street District consists of fine single-family houses, large lot sizes and deep building setbacks and runs on Dover and Beacon from Lawrence south to Sunnyside.

The handsome residential buildings of the Dover Street District reflect the history and development of the Sheridan Drive Subdivision (later known as the Sheridan Park neighborhood within the larger Uptown community area) and the associated importance of middle-class housing in late 19th and early 20th-century Chicago. Possessing a distinctly suburban character, the District is made up of single-family houses, two-and three-flats, and small apartment buildings. The buildings of the District exemplify the residential growth and development of after its annexation by Chicago in 1889. Find much more here.
