Open Space Arts is easy to get to! We are five blocks west of the 36 Broadway Bus and the Wilson stop on the Red Line. We are just east of Clark Street if you are taking the 22 Clark Bus to Wilson.
Free parking is often available on Wilson or side streets. Paid parking is always available on Clark which is free on Sunday.
There is also a paid parking lot on the SE corner of Dover and Wilson, with entrance on Dover.
Tiztal Cafe is a great place for lunch if you are here for a matinee. They close at 3. Crema Shop is lovely for Coffee, but they close most days at 5. Max's Place is perfect for a drink before or after a show. Uptown Taproom is also great, but the kitchen closes at 9. A great place for food and drinks both before or after the show is My Buddys on Clark Street.
The Dover Street District consists of fine single-family houses, large lot sizes and deep building setbacks and runs on Dover and Beacon from Lawrence south to Sunnyside.
The handsome residential buildings of the Dover Street District reflect the history and development of the Sheridan Drive Subdivision (later known as the Sheridan Park neighborhood within the larger Uptown community area) and the associated importance of middle-class housing in late 19th and early 20th-century Chicago. Possessing a distinctly suburban character, the District is made up of single-family houses, two-and three-flats, and small apartment buildings. The buildings of the District exemplify the residential growth and development of after its annexation by Chicago in 1889. Find much more here.
